International Festival 2014
Mini World Cup 2014
Autumn Apple Harvest Meet & Greet
This event was held in conjunction with OISS and featured many apple-themed treats such as homemade apple crumble, apple butter, a selection of apple varieties with dips, apple pie a la mode, cider, spiced chai and more. Students had the opportunity to interact with others from different countries and to enjoy bobbing for apples.
International Dinner 2014
The theme for this year was “Traveling the Eurasian Steppes”. Originally scheduled for Sunday, March 2, it had to be postponed due to a winter storm which shut the university down through Tuesday morning. The dinner was held on Tuesday, March 4 which also happened to be Mardi Gras! The menu featured dishes from Mongolia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Russia, China, Romania and Hungary and, despite a low turnout because of the change in schedule, was enjoyed by all who attended. Thanks to a generous donation from SGA, all expenses were covered and ISO made a donation to the Morgantown Soup Kitchen.
The Barbara Alvis Award was presented at the dinner to Karla and Jeremy Myers of Global Intervarsity for their efforts to make international students welcome and to help them integrate into the Morgantown community. In addition an Outstanding International Student Award was made to Zhengjun Wang who was recognized for his efforts to take Chinese culture to the area schools and community.
